Since Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, there had been a lot of different uses: to pass information, to chat, to receive information, among other things. Of course that some young guys discover they could talk more to their girlfriends just using the phone. And soon began in the United States the phone dating services. And, a few years later, started the dating services in many different ways.

Nowadays, things have grown. There are lots of dating agencies, online dating agencies, phone dating agencies. plenty of choices for the singles to finally find a special someone. But it doesn't mean that things have got easy.

Let's take, for instance, the dating agencies. Their job is to pick people's information and process it. Then, the search starts. They begin to look for someone that could be exactly what the member is looking for. So, they give some options between the hundreds that are in the file, and the man or the woman has to choose one. But their "perfect" match has to like them as well. And, if everything goes well, they start dating. Sure, the most difficult part (having a fun date) still can't be programmed before it actually happens - no matter how big the dating agency is, the two potential lovers have to do this part by themselves. In practice, they do the same thing that your friend who eventually introduces you to his or her friends does: they just join two single people looking for someone in the same place. However, the main difference is that the dating agencies have hundreds of members and dozens of people trying to match them. And it's a big difference.

As said before, the phone dating services were very popular. And they still are. It's a kind of service were you call a certain number and have the opportunity to talk to people from the opposite sex. Of course, phone dating doesn't have the same security that the dating agencies - a tall and thin blue-eyed blond, for an example, can turn out to be a short chubby brunette. Yes, there are plenty of interesting people on the phone services. But if you're going do try that kind of dating, do it on your own risk.

In the end, there's lot of ways for people to find out what they're really after. They just have to be careful. As helpful as those dating services are, they can't promise to find true love for everybody. After the first step is done, you have to put some effort on. Love, like most things in this life, can neither be bought nor found under the bed.
