-> The Discovery of Love
Who can't remember the first love in adolescence, even if it was unilateral, in other words, unfulfilled. Out of the development phases, the latency period, otherwise known as the Dennis
Menace club for the boys and the Betty Boo club for the girls, in reference
to the cartoon characters famous for the boys and girls denial of the opposite
sex. This phase ranges from around the age of six up until ten and epitomizes
how both sexes don't get along at such age.
Shortly after this period, at the beginning of adolescence, when the hormonal
production begins to generate bodily alterations as well as interest in the
discovery for the opposite sex.
Boys and girls start to show affective interest, seeking closeness. Such interest
being above all, based on ideals of beauty and popularity of such individual,
within standards pre-established by society and group which they live in.
At this age, rituals of conquest usually are quite diverse and at times, somewhat
waywardly due to the lack of maturity and experience.
Until recently, the one to take initiative in the ritual of conquest would
be a boy, even though knowingly a girl's interest through hearsay, still it
was something that would have to be worked on, sometimes taking a good deal
of time.
The fear of rejection, that is, not to be accepted as suitor and get turned
down, would take a strategy as course of action absolutely outrageous on which
point plans of extreme complexity, aiming to guarantee ultimately a chance of
nothing going wrongly.
Obviously, in confront of immense variables, plans were never put in place
entirely, which would cause a great deal of anxiety to its mentor. Alas, anxiety
has always been present in the acts of conquest of the adolescent public, usually
caused by the fear of rejection.
Often, adolescents, describe somatic symptoms by the time of conquest itself,
as sweating, Goosebumps and diarrhea.
Currently, differences between boys and girls seemingly ceased to exist, there
could've and inversion taken place, with regard to the girls being taken more
initiative than the boys in the tactics of conquest, influenced perhaps by a
bigger appeal of the mass media, which generalize at every minute rituals of
eroticism and romanticism.
As well, the behavior of adolescents has showed considerable changes lately,
mainly regarding the lack of lastingly affective bonds, which generates a life
experience of futile and ephemeral relations.
Behavior as such also brings about more exposition to sex with more
number of partners that always means bigger risk of STD and undesired pregnancy.
Nostalgia seemingly major symptom of decadence, some would say. But whoever,
men or women, over their thirties, wouldn't miss romance in love affairs, often
with no sex present, but with that taste of daily discovery. Good times
rolled.
